When you’re planning an upcoming mini-RV trip with your family and pets, adding a few National Parks to your route will make for a much more memorable trip.
Whether you enjoy taking in the incredible views while you drive in your RV, exploring the popular attractions in the park or hitting the hiking trails, there are so many things to do during your visit.
If you are bringing along your dog on the trip, be sure to check out these dog-friendly National Parks if they are close to your route.
Grand Canyon National Park
The Grand Canyon is truly something that everyone should see at some point. Grand Canyon National Park is located in Arizona and offers a variety of things to do with your pup. The Rim Trail running along the inside of the canyon is a dog-friendly, 13-mile paved trail. It is a relatively easy hike with minimal elevation change that even the most novice hikers can handle.
If you don’t want to hike the Rim Trail, there are more than enough paths along the edge of the canyon to enjoy. Just make sure you have water available for your furry friend as things can get rather hot.
Olympic National Park
If you’re going through Washington on your upcoming trip, be sure to stop at Olympic National Park. Located along the Pacific Coastline, Olympic offers incredible views and has five dog-friendly trails for you and your family to explore. It also offers several beaches, a campground and picnic areas that will make for a fun-filled adventure.
Acadia National Park
If you’re on the more adventurous side and are planning a trip to the east coast, be sure to check out Acadia National Park. This park is perfect for dogs as it features roughly 120 miles of dog-friendly trails that they will love.
If you’re looking for something a little less intense, the park offers 45 miles of carriage roads, as well as campgrounds, gardens and beaches you’ll be sure to enjoy.
Cuyahoga Valley National Park
A little over 20 miles from Cleveland, OH, Cuyahoga Valley National Park is another dog-friendly park that features 125 miles of trails where you’ll come across beautiful rock cliffs known as ‘The Ledges’, as well as several waterfalls, woodlands and wetlands that will give hours of entertainment to your family and pet(s).
